Week 4 forum

Topic 1

-The item that most stand for me under Ideally, photojournalism should is " Strive to be unobtrusive and humble in dealing with subjects. The job of a good journalistic photographer is not an easy one. You have to work with the flow of events and organize shots at the same time. The true photographer  will be reasonably unobtrusive no matter wether you choose to be a traditional or journalistic photographer.

Topic 2
My favorite photos

I really like this creative photo that Justin took. It has a nice angle and shows what is happening without writing a caption and also has a good focus. http://justinwilliamsmediablog.blogspot.com/

I also like this photo very much that was taken by Josh. It is actually a great Portrait. I think the lighting looks good and the way she is looking at the camera. http://joshuagerig.blogspot.com/

portrait of this week

Kate Miles, a 15-year-old designer from Silver Lake, Oregon. She is a dual enrollment student and has definitely put in the time to get her career where it is today. She has been sewing since she was four years old. This fall, she was one of two emerging designers to win the opportunity to show their collection at Portland fashion week.

Week 3 forum

For my Environmental Portrait and Mug Shot.
- Katherine Miles, a 15-year-old fashion designer. Her design is being covered by Huffington Post and the VK edition of Vogue. She was one of two emerging designers to win the opportunity to show their collection at Portland Fashion Week. The props are sewing machines and equipment,  dresses, materials. Kate has a studio, so I'm planning on going to her studio to take some or maybe a lot of photos of her while she is on her sewing machine or holding a dress.

- Ahmed Rajabzadah, a physics instructor at LBCC. He has physics lab every Friday, so I'll try to take some photos of him helping students doing their physics experiment

My best photo I've taken for this class could be this medium shot photo for some sand volleyball players. And I like it because of the depth of filed and the three players are not centered and not looking to the camera.

My worst photo I've taken for this class was this one for some OSU students studying at the Valley library. I didn't like the lighting of this photo and the angle I took the photo from.

- I think I need to improve many skills in order to take better photos, and I want to take control of natural light and flash to raise the quality of my photos.

Week 3 Photos.

Mathew Brock in the back and Cooper Pawson are going over the Commuter newspaper while waiting for the other team members to join them for their weekly Commuter meeting at the Commuter office at LBCC on Thursday April 16.

Week two forum.

1- Select a word. Choosing a word for capture might help taking more photos that stand under the same topic.
2- View the world with unusual lenses. That helps taking different photos for the same view.

For this class, I would use the first suggestion, Select a word, to take photos for my assignments, so that would help me  coming up with more ideas.

USC's Dominique Byrd brings down a one-handed touchdown grab while Oregon State's Brandon Browner tries to prevent the reception in a fog-enshrouded Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore.

For Ryan photos portfolio, I actually like all his photos, and they all look perfect to me.  The photo that most stands out to me is the football photo. I like that the players are on action trying to get the ball, and it's hard to shoot a sport photo like that.

I would like to ask Ryan about what was his starting point of being a photographer, What does he like to shoot most, and what would he like to advise me in order to be a better photographer?

LBCC Sand Volleyball

Karah-Maree Fields is tossing the ball at the sand volleyball court at LBCC campus.

FORUM 1

My goals for photojournalism class are first, don't leave my camera and shoot photos everyday. Second, read books about some famous photographers and try to learn more from them. Finally, do all my assignments and focus in the class to not miss any information that instructor gives us.

My photographer of this week is Yousuf Karsh. He was born in Mardin, a city in Turkey. He grew up diring the American Genoside where he wrote "I saw relatives massacred; my sister died of starvation as we were driven from village to village." Karsh was the only Canadian to make the list. He was the one who took Afghan girl photo.

-For my next week assignment, I'm planning to go to DAMchic Spring 2015 Launch Party today in Oregon State University in corvallis to take photos of the OSU Hip Hop club.
-Go to a chemistry or a physics lab and take photos of students doing an experiment.
